Introduction

Hellenic Riviera Yachting operates this website and booking service to provide guests with private cruise experiences in Paros and the Cyclades (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used and disclosed when you visit, use or make a reservation through the Services.

If there is a conflict between our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing and disclosure of your personal information. By accessing the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

Personal Information We Collect or Process

We collect or process the following categories of personal information:

  • Contact details including name, billing address, phone number, country of residence and email address.
  • Financial information including payment card information, transaction details, form of payment and payment confirmation. Card details are entered into our payment processor (Stripe) and are never stored on our own servers.
  • Account information including username, password, security questions, preferences and settings.
  • Reservation information including dates, destinations, passenger counts, dietary or activity preferences, special requests, completed cruises, modifications and cancellations.
  • Communications with us including support enquiries, contact-form messages, emails and any related information you share.
  • Device information including device type, browser, network connection details, IP address and unique identifiers.
  • Usage information including interaction patterns and navigation through the Services.

Personal Information Sources

We collect personal information from the following sources:

  • Directly from you when you create an account, make a reservation, contact us or otherwise provide information.
  • Automatically through the Services via your device, our website and cookies or similar technologies.
  • From service providers who collect or process information on our behalf, such as Stripe and our hosting and email providers.
  • From partners or other third parties, for example travel agents who book on your behalf.

How We Use Your Personal Information

Provide, Tailor and Improve the Services

We use personal information to provide the Services, process payments, confirm and manage reservations, remember your preferences, send service notifications, create and manage accounts, coordinate logistics and the cruise itself, support special requests and create a smooth booking experience.

Marketing and Advertising

Where you have opted in, we may use personal information to send marketing communications by email, including offers, news, weather windows and seasonal availability. You can opt out at any time through any email or by contacting us.

Security and Fraud Prevention

We use personal information to authenticate accounts, ensure secure payments, detect fraudulent or illegal activity, protect public safety and secure the Services. If you register an account, you are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.

Communicating with You

We use personal information to provide customer support, respond to enquiries and maintain our relationship with you before, during and after your cruise.

Legal Reasons

We use personal information to comply with applicable law, respond to legal process from law enforcement or government agencies, investigate civil discovery or litigation, and enforce our terms or policies.

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to third parties in the following circumstances:

  • With vendors and service providers performing functions such as IT management, payment processing, data analytics, customer support, cloud storage and email delivery.
  • With business and marketing partners for joint promotions or advertising. Depending on where you reside, you may have the right to direct us not to share information about you for targeted advertising based on your activity across different sites.
  • When directed, requested or consented to by you, for example when sharing booking details with a co-traveller or social media integration.
  • With affiliates or within our corporate group.
  • In connection with business transactions, legal obligations, terms enforcement, and to protect the Services, our rights or the rights of users.

Relationship with Stripe

We use Stripe as our payment processor. When you make a payment, Stripe collects card and transaction information directly and processes it on our behalf. Stripe is responsible for the security of card data and may handle this data outside your country. You can read Stripe's privacy practices at stripe.com/privacy.

Third Party Websites and Links

The Services may include links to third-party websites. If you follow a link to a site we do not operate or control, you should review its privacy and security policies and other terms. We do not guarantee the privacy or security of those sites or the accuracy of information found there. Information you share on public or semi-public venues may be viewed by other users.

Children's Data

The Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we have no actual knowledge that we sell or share personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

Security and Retention of Your Information

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including HTTPS in transit, hashed passwords, restricted internal access and reputable third-party processors. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security."

Retention of personal information depends on factors such as maintaining your account, providing the Services, complying with legal obligations (in particular Greek tax and maritime law, typically up to 10 years for booking records), resolving disputes and enforcing contracts and policies.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

  • Right to Access / Know — request the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to Delete — request deletion of your personal information.
  • Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Right to Portability — receive a copy of your data and request transfer to a third party in certain cases.
  • Right to Object / Restrict Processing — ask us to stop or restrict processing for certain purposes (UK / EEA residents).
  • Right to Withdraw Consent — where we rely on your consent as the legal basis (UK / EEA residents).
  • Manage Communication Preferences — unsubscribe from promotional emails while still receiving non-promotional messages about your account or upcoming cruise.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Authorised agents can submit requests with proof of authorisation. We will respond within the timeframe required by law.

Complaints

If you have a complaint, please contact us first using the details below. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to appeal our decision or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Greece, this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).

International Transfers

Your personal information may be transferred, stored and processed outside your country, including by our service providers. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to countries that have been determined to provide an adequate level of protection.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The latest version is always posted on this page with an updated date.
